Dead Girl Walking, 2024
stoneware, glazes, luster, epoxy, ink
78 x 29 x 41cm
Idea for this piece arose from my past experience. I had this statue in my mind for a long time, and it felt like it was important for me to create it for a couple of reasons – first of all the idea and another is the formof this piece – in the past I frequently used static positions for my figures. They were inactive, waiting, observing and in some way passive. And now I put a bit of movement to this piece. A milestone for me! During the process I was inspired by the body shape of a little child , which resulted in the weird mixture of infantility and maturity in one.
So this girl is dead but still walking…
